Virginia Dods

Year 6 Parent

Working Bee Coordinator

I have a daughter, Calypso, in Year 6, who is my fourth child to attend the school. This means I have been involved with Abbotsford Primary and School Council for a very long time. The school has provided a warm, nurturing place for my children to learn. I have thoroughly enjoyed supporting my local school that has been a hidden gem, until now, thanks to the major building upgrade and our enthusiasm for sharing the benefits with the community.

Guy Donald

Vice President

Year 1 and Year 3 Parent

I am the parent of two kids currently in Grades 1 and 3, with another to join the school in 2023. We chose Abbotsford because of its small size, community and the ability for my kids to more deeply immerse themselves in their heritage and language. I work in economic regulation at the ACCC and enjoy mountain biking on the weekend. I grew up in Sydney but now call Melbourne home (despite the weather).

Kimi Nishimura

Chair of Marketing Sub-Committee

Year 2 Parent

Kimi Nishimura joined the APS School Council last year and is the Chair of the Marketing Sub-Committee. She is the parent of Mia in Year 2. Kimi attended state primary and secondary schools in inner-city Melbourne, and is passionate about high quality public education and educational equity. Kimi has a background in law and business, with over a decade of experience working and volunteering as a lawyer in class action, refugee and anti-discrimination law. Kimi speaks English, French, Italian and Japanese, to varying degrees of proficiency.

Jessica Paolini

Foundation Parent

Jessica Paolini is new to the APS School Council, and is looking forward to the journey at Abbotsford primary with her son Rafael starting in Foundation this year and her daughter Nina starting in Foundation next year. The small close-knit community, and the opportunity for her children to attend a bilingual school so close to home was what drew Jessica and her family to APS. As an urban designer working in the property development industry, Jessica's interests lie within contributing towards creating better places to live and work and creating better spaces for our children. Jessica's spare time is spent being active at the local karate dojo, in the garden- usually pulling weeds, and spending time with the kids. With an Italian heritage, there is lots of family gatherings and food prep in there as well.

Debra Ong

Foundation Parent

Working Bee Coordinator

Debra is the mother of a child currently enrolled in Foundation. She works in the pharmaceutical industry and has experience in quality, governance, and management. She likes exploring new places locally and beyond, trying out new recipes, and watching old-school reality shows. She has great respect for people, the environment, and spreadsheets.
